After four years with a boutique agency, Wu Ying Ying took on a new challenge in 2015, assuming an in-house communications role at ShopBack. She was employee number 28 when she joined the now 300+ strong team.

 

In her four years at ShopBack, Ying Ying worked closely across departments, taking calculated risks, and as at the time of her departure, the start-up has established itself across eight countries, with more than 10 million users.

 

She recently took on a new challenge and now heads up regional content and marketing communications at Ninja Van.

Ninja Van is a tech-enabled express logistics company providing hassle-free delivery solutions for businesses of all sizes across Southeast Asia.  Launched in 2014, Ninja Van started operations in Singapore and has become the region’s fastest growing last-mile logistics company, powering businesses with innovative logistics solutions. Today, Ninja Van has grown its network to cover six countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Michael is based in Singapore where he runs Cocoon Capital. Michael was awarded the 2015 Angel Investor of the Year by the British Business Angel Association and was picked for the UK’s 2016 Maserati 100.

 

Michael began his career at Sainsbury’s, specializing in Human Resources and IT, and then joined Avonmore in 2002. He spends a considerable amount of his time mentoring entrepreneurs, engaging with other business angels, family offices, and VCs, and speaks extensively about early-stage investing in the UK and Asian markets.
